$50 eBay Coin Grab Bags! Did I Score Big?

You’ve probably all seen them before on eBay, mystery coin grab bags promising the opportunity of riches beyond your wildest dreams…or a bunch of junk. So that you guys don’t need to waste your money on such gambles, I have bought 2 different coin collector’s grab bags on eBay for $50 each. Do I win big and get gold like sovereigns or double eagles? Silver like Morgan dollars and Mercury dimes? Or do I lose with a bunch of stinkin’ Lincolns? Watch to find out!

  2. First one was a fair deal. I hope the quality stays that way but only time as well as supply will tell. The second one made a ton of cash for the seller which is what they intend to do.If I got the first one, I would have been happy with that, lots of variety. The second one was an out and out rip off

  3. There is no such thing as a good investment when it comes to coins and gold and silver. Best way to have any type of return AT ALL is to find someone with s collection they want to sell and buy to for half its value.

  4. Numismatic grabs bags are trash by nature. Your value metric is out of control, but your'e the end user so i guess that doesnt matter. I'm a veteran numis purchaser and i can tell you the real value would be somewhere around:
    Recovery = scrap (1-3% cost) > ebay part outs (30-120% demand>*competition>*timelost*) > Sell to trader (-60%)
Where you time actually makes a difference, the youtube video could in theory pay for the trash-bag anyway and even a nice little profit! These are the real lessons Mr. Poontang is here to spouse. I say good day for now my children, be wary of taking the bait for anything but the pleasure of collecting and appreciating the goodies.

  5. 10:01 WRONG!!

Those Are Japanese Invasion Money (JIM) : was currency issued by the Japanese Military Authority, as a replacement for local currency after the conquest of colonies and other states in World War II.

Countries that the currencies were issued included the Philippines, Burma (now Myanmar), Malaya, North Borneo and Sarawak (now Malaysia), Singapore, Brunei, the Dutch East Indies (now Indonesia) and some areas of Oceania (New Guinea and the Solomon and Gilbert islands).

  6. Let me get this straight:
If you go to eBay and pick any "Grab Bag." And you spend $50 USD, maybe you will get a couple very valuable items,
possibly much more than $50 USD worth?
Hmm… so eBay seller folks are upright & honest businessmen/women who live for profit just not "Grab Bag" profit.
Double hmm… since I was not born yesterday, I am going to say no business person is going to sell an unknown "Grab Bag"
that could contain a item, coin, bar, or anything that could make them a higher profit than the effort of paying dealer seller fees
and selling a "$50 Grab Bags" on eBay.

So this is not a "scam" but a set up. In other words "Grab Bags" do contain something that is just enough for you to "think", I can score
on the next one, darn missed it but I got these two (2) $8 USD coins (making $16 USD)so I only spent/lost $34 USD. Maybe,
I score big on the next, next "Grab Bag".

You get it. Nice/clever business tactic that makes them (business folk) money not you.
    Thanks Silverpicker.

  7. So according to you gold flakes ate worthless, wow I never heard that before, are gold bars worthless too?? Just wondering

  8. you are being generous with your values. MOST of these coins are in such poor condition that they have little to no true collector value at all. Barely worth their face value. The coins you showed as proof, are no longer sell able as proof because of the way they are packaged. These coins are BU or brilliant uncirculated. At least the silver is worth its weight for silver value.

  9. That gold-plate bank note was really sad, and that’s how he fulfilled all his gold requirement for every order. I wondered how he could possibly include any kind of gold and sell so cheap, but anyone could say 24 karat gold and include a worthless gold plated coin or anything.

  10. Do at least have the pearls checked out as they do have value and their market value keeps going up. While ocean pearls are becoming more and more scarce and their quality is getting lower all the time, the freshwater pearls are using "seeded" muscles and thus are the farmed variety and their value is going up.
